We are delighted to announce that Joshua Chapman has completed his degree apprenticeship and achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering.
Beginning his career as a Structural Technician Apprentice at Arup, Josh quickly progressed to a Chartered Structural Technician within a few years. In 2018, Josh joined Building Design Northern (BDN) as a Junior Engineer and began a Degree Apprenticeship with Teesside University, where he studied BEng in Civil Engineering alongside full-time employment.
The degree apprenticeship has facilitated Josh’s career development, where he has progressed from a Chartered Technician (EngTech MICE), to now working towards becoming an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
After four years of University studies, Josh completed his Bachelor’s Degree in May this year, receiving notification of his First earlier this week.
Josh manages the Small Works department at BDN, dealing with all residential and domestic enquiries, alongside working with the wider Structural Engineering team on large-scale commercial projects.
“All of us at BDN are extremely proud of Josh, as he marks a significant milestone in his career. The result is a testament to the hard-work and commitment Josh displayed throughout his studies. ”
Speaking about his success, Josh said: “I am very grateful to BDN for supporting me over the course of the last four years and for giving me the opportunities in the workplace to improve my understanding of structural engineering.”
Luke Darwin, Director of Structural Engineering at BDN, said, “All of us at BDN are extremely proud of Josh, as he marks a significant milestone in his career. The result is a testament to the hard-work and commitment Josh displayed throughout his studies.”
Huge congratulations to Josh for this incredible achievement!
