New appointment at BDN

Growing architectural and engineering practice, BDN, has added to its team with another apprentice engineer.

Joe Hart has been recruited as an apprentice structural technician, following the success of an apprenticeship scheme currently in place for another trainee.

The Sunderland business, which now employs 25 people, is working with New College Durham to deliver the apprenticeship, with Joe based within BDN’s engineering team to gain hands-on experience, while completing a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering.

Joe, who is 19 years old, said:

I am really pleased to join BDN, and looking forward to taking my first steps towards a career in engineering.

BDN has a growing team in Sunderland, and is moving into a new premises in Ulverston as part of plans to expand its footprint in the North West.  The firm works on commercial and residential schemes, delivering architectural, structural and civic engineering services to a large roster of clients across the country.

Managing director, Rick Marsden, said:

We’re really pleased to welcome Joe to the team.

BDN boasts a vastly experienced multi-disciplinary team, and we are keen to ensure they impart their knowledge on young people coming into industry, so we can develop the brightest new talent.
