Structural Engineering
The Foundry, Cavendish Street was a 10-story city centre student accommodation development. The commercial project now houses 239 student rooms, with facilities including a study room, cinema, games room, music room and gym.
The scheme created new public routes to the universities and city centre, whilst also enhancing the public realm.
BDN provided structural engineering services for the basement car park and first floor steel frame for the project, working alongside other companies and organisations who provided the above metal frame.
The lower two floors of the building were constructed around a hot rolled steel frame and cast in-situ concrete floors along with a cast in-situ concrete stair and lift core.
