We’re delighted to announce one of our architectural design projects; Sea Fever – an executive coastal residence in the North of England, has been named ‘Winner’ of the Best Individual New Home at this year’s LABC Building Excellence Awards (Northern region).

This project represents the very best of what can be achieved through thoughtful design, technical excellence and collaboration.

Set along a dramatic coastline, the home was designed to capture uninterrupted ocean views while meeting complex environmental and structural challenges. From the outset, the site presented significant technical demands, each carefully resolved by Fitz and BDN teams without compromise to the design vision.

Sea Fever by Fitz Architects and BDN.

The project was a true collaborative effort, with architects and structural/civil engineering teams all working together collectively under one roof.

This integrated approach allowed for seamless coordination, ensuring that design intent, technical solutions, and construction delivery remained perfectly aligned throughout the process. It’s this synergy that helped keep the project on track — on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The result is a striking, contemporary coastal property that combines elegance with resilience. The complex steel structure and precise thermal detailing were integral in achieving high energy performance and long-term durability in a challenging environment.

We’re honoured to see the project recognised by LABC — a celebration of design ambition, teamwork, and excellence in modern coastal architecture. You can read more about Fitz and our award-winning architectural design projects here: https://fitzarchitects.co.uk/
